FRUITFULNESS: A MUST ! – Thursday March 23rd 2017 Memorise: And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Genesis 17:6 Read: Genesis 17:4-6 (King James Version) 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. CRADLED IN COMFORT:MARCH 23, 2017

Cradled in Comfort Kirsten Holmberg Isaiah 66:12–16 As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.  Isaiah 66:13 My friend entrusted me with the privilege of holding her precious, four-day-old daughter. Not long after I took the baby into my arms, she started to fuss. I hugged her closer, my cheek pressed against her head, and began to sway and hum in a gentle rhythm to soothe her. Despite these earnest attempts, and my decade and a half of parenting experience, I couldn’t pacify her. She became increasingly upset until I placed her back into the crook of her mother’s eager arm. Peace washed over her almost instantaneously; her cries subsided and her newborn frame relaxed into the safety she already trusted. My friend knew precisely how to hold and pat her daughter to alleviate her distress. God extends comfort to His children like a mother: tender, trustworthy, and diligent in her efforts to calm her child. When we are weary or upset, He carries us affectionately in His

IGNORANCE GUARANTEE UNGODLINESS

MARCH 23 Ignorance Guarantees Ungodliness Devotional by John Piper His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3) I am amazed at the power that the Bible gives to knowledge. Consider 2 Peter 1:3: “[God’s] divine power has granted . . . all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.” Literally, all the power available from God to live and be godly comes through knowledge! Amazing! What a premium we should put on doctrine and instruction in the Scriptures! Life and godliness are at stake. Not that knowing guarantees godliness. It doesn’t. But it seems that ignorance guarantees ungodliness. Because, Peter says, the divine power that leads to godliness is given through the knowledge of God. Here are three implications, a warning, and a promise. 1. Read! Read! Read! But bew

DON'T IGNORE THE RED FLAGS

Image
Don't Ignore the Red Flags One of the most important decisions you can make on the road to your destiny is choosing who you will allow to be a part of your life. The people we spend time with affect our journey. They influence us to move forward and rise higher, or they hold us back and cause us to live in mediocrity. It's important to recognize the right relationships, and when you see that a relationship is unhealthy, you have to be willing to let it go so you can be in the right position to receive what God has for you. Are you spending too much time with friends who are putting your destiny in jeopardy? Are there influences in your life that you know are not right? Is there a commitment you are about to make in a relationship that you're unsure of? Oftentimes, those little red flags are so subtle. You think, "Oh, maybe it's just me. It's not that big of a deal." But the enemy is so sneaky. He's not going to send someone into your life tha

THURSDAY , MARCH 23, 2017 SUNDRY COUNSELS FOR THE WISE -PROVERBS 18:13-24 KEY VERSE: "The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge" (Proverbs 18:15). The unbridled tongue has always led to the waterloo of many. And who is a wise man? One who is able to tame his tongue; he thinks and reflects before talking. Sadly, the unregenerate heart does the very opposite.  Our text today opens with a counsel on how to wisely use the tongue. It also lays emphasis on other vital lessons of life. We must give much thoughts to every question before answering it. Similarly, before passing comments on any issue, we must first get the facts. Those who fail to heed this timeless counsel have always reaped the reward of thoughtless speeches.  The importance of courage and good conduct which produce clear conscience and a healthy heart is stressed in this study. A believer with good courage and a good heart can never be easily overwhelmed b
