How To Start The Day

Image
Today’s Scripture "Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds." (Psalm 149:5, NKJV) How to Start the Day As you woke up this morning, what was the first thing that went through your mind? Did you wake up with a song of praise on your lips? When we start the day in worship, we start the day connected to Almighty God. When we live a lifestyle of praise, it shows that our faith is constantly in Him. We make glorifying God a priority. It’s not secondary, “Oh, if I have time.” No, you’re always talking about God’s goodness. You’re constantly telling your friends how God has blessed you. In your car, you’re singing songs of praise. At the office, under your breath, you’re thanking God for His favor. You get up in the morning and say, “God, I love You today. I praise You today. Thank You for another beautiful day.” Then when you go to bed at night, you bless Him for His faithfulness! Friend, when you have the high praises of God coming out of your mo

The greatest love of all

Image
Today’s Scripture "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13, NKJV) The Greatest Love of All In our culture today, so many people are confused about what love is. We love pizza, movies and sports, but we also love our family or spouse. If we look to the Word of God, we see God’s definition of love. First Corinthians 13 tells us that “love is patient and kind. It does not envy nor boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It does not seek its own way, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices in the truth. Love believes, hopes and endures. Love never fails.” This is how God responds to us, and this is how we should respond to the people in our lives—with patience, kindness, hope, humility and love. Scripture tells us that God is love, and His character never changes! Today and every day, know that God loves you with an everlasting love. He will never leave yo

FOCUS ON WHAT YOU HAVE

Image
Focus on what You Have April 04, 2017 Today’s Scripture " Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage." (Ecclesiastes 5:18, NKJV) Focus on What You Have The scripture talks about how God has given us the power to enjoy what is allotted and appointed to us. That simply means that I don’t have the power to enjoy your life. You may have more success, more money, more friends or a better job, but if you put me in your life, I’m not going to enjoy it. We are uniquely designed to run our own race. When we truly understand and embrace this, we won’t be tempted to compare or wish we had what someone else has. You won’t think, “If only I had their talent…” No, if God wanted you to have that talent, He would have given it to you. Instead, take what you have and develop it. Make the most of it. Don’t thin

WHEN YOU GET OFF COURSE

Image
When You Get Off Course Post by Joel Osteen. God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh. He had clear instructions. He knew exactly what he was supposed to do, but Jonah didn't want to go to Nineveh. Instead, he went the opposite direction. God said, "Go left." He went right. You would think God would say, "All right, Jonah. You're on your own. I'll go before you if you go to Nineveh, but good luck if you go the other way." Jonah got on a boat headed in the wrong direction and a huge storm arose. Yes, there are consequences for going the wrong way, but that doesn't mean God won't help you. He's going to give you another chance and another and another. The boat Jonah was in was about to capsize. The sailors were all about to die. Jonah finally admitted that he was the cause of the storm. The sailors didn't think twice. They threw him overboard. Here was Jonah out in the middle of the ocean in a huge storm, no life jacket, no chanc

CHOOSING YOUR HEAVENLY HERITAGE

Image
Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily devotional – Choosing Your Heavenly Heritage Today’s Scripture: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." - (Ezekiel 36:26, NIV) Topic: Choosing Your Heavenly Heritage [Tuesday March 28, 2017] In life, we all have negative things happen to us. We go through situations that are unfair. I know people who were raised in an unhealthy environment. Their parents had issues, and now it's making it much more difficult on them. But here is what I've learned: when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He gives you a new heart. In other words, your bloodline changes. No longer are you subject to your earthly heritage, you become subject to your heavenly heritage! His spiritual blessing always overrides the curse in the natural realm. When you understand who you are and what God has already done, then no matter what someone else has don

CONSTANT GRATITUDE

Image
Today’s Scripture: "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!" - (1 Chronicles 16:34, ESV) Topic: Constant Gratitude [Friday March 24, 2017] What are you grateful for today? Are you grateful for His love, mercy and kindness? Are you grateful for the sun that shines and brings us a new day? Are you thankful for the gift of eternal life? Gratefulness is a powerful force in the life of the believer. No matter what may be happening in the world around you, you can always find something to thank God for. Gratefulness and faith go hand in hand. When we are grateful, it shows that our faith is in Him. We can thank Him for what He's done in the past and what He will do in the future! Remember, faith pleases God; it causes Him to move on your behalf. Work to develop an attitude of constant gratitude and give thanks to the Lord for His goodness. As you do, you’ll experience His mercy and loving-kindness in greater ways and move

DON'T IGNORE THE RED FLAGS

Image
Don't Ignore the Red Flags One of the most important decisions you can make on the road to your destiny is choosing who you will allow to be a part of your life. The people we spend time with affect our journey. They influence us to move forward and rise higher, or they hold us back and cause us to live in mediocrity. It's important to recognize the right relationships, and when you see that a relationship is unhealthy, you have to be willing to let it go so you can be in the right position to receive what God has for you. Are you spending too much time with friends who are putting your destiny in jeopardy? Are there influences in your life that you know are not right? Is there a commitment you are about to make in a relationship that you're unsure of? Oftentimes, those little red flags are so subtle. You think, "Oh, maybe it's just me. It's not that big of a deal." But the enemy is so sneaky. He's not going to send someone into your life tha

YOUR TIME AND CHANCE

Image
Today’s Scripture "…time and chance happen to them all." (Ecclesiastes 9:11, AMPC) Before the foundation of the world, God laid out a plan for your life. He created you with a purpose, for a purpose, and He created you to be successful! He has marked moments already laid out that are going to come across your path. These moments are not ordinary. They are destiny-altering moments. They are designed to thrust you years ahead. Ecclesiastes tells us that time and chance come together for every person. That means you will have opportunities to meet the right people, opportunities to advance in your career, and opportunities to fulfill your dreams. God has already prearranged for you times of increase, promotion and blessing. Today, open your eyes of faith and see the good things God has in store for your future. Thank Him for what He’s doing and what He’s about to do. Thank Him for divine connections and marked moments because He is ready and willing to fulfill every

GOD'S LOVE LETTER

Image
God's Love Letter Post by Victoria Osteen Have you ever sat down to read the Bible and felt like you were trying to force something to happen? I have. I've opened my Bible before and prayed, "God, I need a word from You today." Then, I closed my eyes, twirled my finger around and landed on a scripture hoping it would be exactly what I needed. But then, it ends up being something obscure that has nothing to do with my circumstances! We've all been there, trying to so hard to make a connection with God and sometimes ending up frustrated. God doesn't want His Word to make us feel pressure; He wants His Word to make us feel light and free. He doesn't want us to come to Him feeling stressed; He wants us to come to Him feeling blessed and knowing that His Word is making a difference in our lives beyond what we may feel in the moment. God's Word is more than an instruction manual. It's not just a list of do's and don'ts. His Word is a

VICTORY IS ALWAYS ON THE WAY

Image
Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily devotional –  Victory is Always on the Way Today’s Scripture: "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…" - 2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV Topic: Victory is Always on the Way [Monday March 13, 2017] Isn’t it wonderful to know that God promises to always lead us into victory? That means no matter what is going on in your life today, no matter what’s happening in the world around you, no matter what anybody says, you should always be thanking God because victory is always on the way! You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to celebrate what God is going to do in your life. Praise is putting action behind your faith. In the middle of adversity or a tough time, start making a list of who you’re going to invite to your victory celebration. That means if you’re in the hospital, start planning what you’re going to do when you get out. If you lost some money when the stock market went down, sta

HE WILL BREAK EVERY CHAIN

Image
He Will Break Every Chain Post by Joel Osteen One time, I to a gentleman who had been an alcoholic for 30 years. It was all he had known. Growing up, he watched his father and grandfather struggle with alcohol. It looked like this addiction would keep getting passed from generation to generation. He tried to stop but wasn't able to, and now he was just accepting it. One day he was so miserable, he said, "God, I can't do this anymore. Please send somebody to help me." He specifically prayed, "God, send me a counselor." It just so happened that he turned on our Sirius XM channel. He would listen for hours and hours every day. He said to me, with tears running down his cheeks, "Joel, you became my counselor. You were the answer to my prayer." For the first time in 30 years, he's been sober for 8 months. He couldn't do it on his own, but God broke the chains. God cut through the bars of iron. There may be things that have held you ba
