GROW IN GRACE

Image
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. - 2 Peter 3:17, 18 We grow in knowledge as we take note of the promises of God, and by faith apply them to ourselves, and seek to discern in our lives the fulfilment of those promises; we grow in grace simultaneously, for unless each item of knowledge be received into a good and honest heart, and bring forth its measure of obedience and righteousness (grace), we will not be prepared for the next step of knowledge, and would thus be stopped, or possibly turned back. And as a loss of knowledge would mean a measurable loss of grace, so also a loss of grace would mean a corresponding loss of knowledge--going into darkness, the promises of the Lord's Word becoming more and more dim and obscured, in proportion as our goodness or grace would be los

FOREVER SATISFIED

Image
MARCH 25 Forever Satisfied Devotional by John Piper “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) This text points to the fact that believing in Jesus is a feeding and drinking from all that Jesus is. It goes so far as to say that our soul-thirst is satisfied with Jesus, so that we don’t thirst anymore. He is the end of our quest for satisfaction. When we trust Jesus the way John intends for us to, the presence and promise of Jesus is so satisfying that we are not dominated by the alluring pleasures of sin (see Romans 6:14). This accounts for why such faith in Jesus nullifies the power of sin and enables obedience. John 4:14 points in the same direction: “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” In accord with John 6:35, saving faith is spoken of here as a drinking

CONSTANT GRATITUDE

Image
Today’s Scripture: "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!" - (1 Chronicles 16:34, ESV) Topic: Constant Gratitude [Friday March 24, 2017] What are you grateful for today? Are you grateful for His love, mercy and kindness? Are you grateful for the sun that shines and brings us a new day? Are you thankful for the gift of eternal life? Gratefulness is a powerful force in the life of the believer. No matter what may be happening in the world around you, you can always find something to thank God for. Gratefulness and faith go hand in hand. When we are grateful, it shows that our faith is in Him. We can thank Him for what He's done in the past and what He will do in the future! Remember, faith pleases God; it causes Him to move on your behalf. Work to develop an attitude of constant gratitude and give thanks to the Lord for His goodness. As you do, you’ll experience His mercy and loving-kindness in greater ways and move

BEHOLD HIS GREATNESS AND GLORY

Image
BEHOLD HIS GREATNESS AND GLORY -PSALM 113:1-9 KEY VERSE: "The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens" (Psalm 113:4). A songwriter beheld the glory and the greatness of the Most High and rightly described Him in this manner: "The Ancient of Days, Pavillion’d in Splendour, And girded with praise." The psalmist in our text today commands all the servants of the Lord to praise Him. True servants of God are those who appreciate His ownership over their lives through creation and redemption. Praise is a necessary and most excellent duty we have towards God. He is the supreme Ruler over the earth and heaven. No matter how powerful a kingdom on earth may be, it must have its boundary. But God’s Kingdom is boundless and universal. David through the Spirit of God searched for whom he could compare God with but found none. Great men he had known could not be forever but God lives forever whose beginning and end no mortal can kno

NOT THE ONE

Not the One Poh Fang Chia 1 Chronicles 17:1–4, 16–25 Do as you promised, so that it will be established and that your name will be great forever.  1 Chronicles 17:23–24 David had drawn up the plans. He designed the furniture. He collected the materials. He made all the arrangements (see 1 Chron. 28:11–19). But the first temple built in Jerusalem is known as Solomon’s Temple, not David’s. For God had said, “You are not the one” (1 Chron. 17:4). God had chosen David’s son Solomon to build the temple. David’s response to this denial was exemplary. He focused on what God would do, instead of what he himself could not do (vv. 16–25). He maintained a thankful spirit. He did everything he could and rallied capable men to assist Solomon in building the temple (see 1 Chron. 22). Bible commentator J. G. McConville wrote: “Often we may have to accept that the work which we would dearly like to perform in terms of Christian service is not that for which we are best equipped, and n

Give What You Have by Joyce Meyer

Give What You Have by Joyce Meyer - posted March 25, 2017 They said to Him, We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish. He said, Bring them here to Me. Then He ordered the crowds to recline on the grass; and He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and blessed and broke the loaves and handed the pieces to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. — Matthew 14:17-19 One of the biggest mistakes we can make in life is to focus on what we don't have or have lost and fail to take an inventory of what we do have.  When Jesus desired to feed five thousand men—plus women and children—the disciples said all they had was a little boy's lunch, which consisted of five small loaves of bread and two fish. They assured Him it was not enough for a crowd the size they had. However, Jesus took the lunch and multiplied it. He fed thousands of men, women, and children and had twelve baskets of leftovers (see Matthew 14:1

BE SENSITIVE-BY BILLY GRAHAM

Be Sensitive By Billy Graham • March 25 • Topics: Love HomeDaily Devotion Be Sensitive rapid response team If a person isn't loving and kind, it shows that he doesn't know God—for God is love. —1 John 4:8 (TLB) Jesus wept tears of compassion at the graveside of a friend. He mourned over Jerusalem because as a city it had lost its appreciation of the things of the Spirit. His great heart was sensitive to the needs of others. To emphasize the importance of man’s love for men, He revised an old commandment to make it read, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart . . . and thy neighbor as thyself.”  This generation is rough and tough. I heard a little boy boasting one day about how tough he was. He said, “On the street I live on, the farther out you go the tougher they get, and I live in the last house.” Until you have learned the value of compassionately sharing others’ sorrow, distress, and misfortune, you cannot know real happiness. MEMBERS OF HIS BODY-RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Members Of His Body . Saturday, March 25th . Pastor Chris Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid (1 Corinthians 6:15) . In the opening verse, notice that the Apostle Paul used the plural noun “bodies.” He was writing to the Church at Corinth. If he had used the singular noun “body,” it would have seemed right to argue that he was speaking in generic terms, referring to all of us as “the body of Christ”; that is, the mystical body of Christ as referenced in Romans 12:5: “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” He however expresses a profound truth about our individual connection and oneness with Jesus Christ by saying, “…your bodies are the members of Christ….” This is a most powerful truth in God’s Word that you can apply for your health. It isn’t only your spirit that is part of the mysti
