FOCUS ON WHAT YOU HAVE

Image
Focus on what You Have April 04, 2017 Today’s Scripture " Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage." (Ecclesiastes 5:18, NKJV) Focus on What You Have The scripture talks about how God has given us the power to enjoy what is allotted and appointed to us. That simply means that I don’t have the power to enjoy your life. You may have more success, more money, more friends or a better job, but if you put me in your life, I’m not going to enjoy it. We are uniquely designed to run our own race. When we truly understand and embrace this, we won’t be tempted to compare or wish we had what someone else has. You won’t think, “If only I had their talent…” No, if God wanted you to have that talent, He would have given it to you. Instead, take what you have and develop it. Make the most of it. Don’t thin

HIS WORD THE LAST WORD

His Word the Last Word David McCasland Psalm 63:1–11 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.  Psalm 63:6–7 Dawson Trotman, a dynamic Christian leader of the mid-twentieth century and founder of The Navigators, emphasized the importance of the Bible in the life of every Christian. Trotman ended each day with a practice he called “His Word the last word.” Before going to sleep he meditated on a memorized Bible verse or passage, then prayed about its place and influence in his life.  He wanted the last words he thought about each day to be God’s words. The psalmist David wrote, “On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings”  (Ps. 63:6–7).  Whether we are in great difficulty or enjoying a time of peace, our last thought at night can ease our minds with the rest and comfort God gives

NEVER DESPAIR!

NEVER DESPAIR! -JOB 30:1-14 KEY VERSE: " They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face" (Job 30:10). One of the noblest of human vocations is providing encouragement to others. It is easy to laugh at men’s ideals and pour cold water on their enthusiasm. But, Christians have a duty to encourage one another. Many a time, a word of praise or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet. Today’s text begins with a melancholy: "But now…". This was Job, overwhelmed by sorrow resulting from a sudden fall into horror, into the valley of ridicule and derision from the height of honour and reputation. He was cast down and depressed. It is then clear that the best of saints like Job, have sometimes received the worst of injuries from the devil. Christians should therefore not think it strange when they go through trials because our Master (Jesus) enjoyed no immunity from it (1 Peter 4:12-16).  Our duty towards others at such a

A LIFESTYLE OF REST

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional A Lifestyle Of Rest . Tuesday, April 4th .  Pastor Chris Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things (Matthew 6:31-32). Many today are burdened with stress and anxiety. They’re worried about their work, family, business, finances, etc. God doesn’t want that for any of His children. Worry sets before you a magnetic force that attracts things that are consistent with it. It has its fears, fears of negative possibilities. If you keep worrying about losing your job, for example, soon enough you’ll lose it. The cure for worrying is to stay your mind on God’s Word. Philippians 4:6 says,  “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” So, rather than worry, ask

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW COVENANT III

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW COVENANT III   Memorise :   He saith into them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts but get we you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Matthew 19:8 Read : Matthew 5:31-32 (KJV) 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Bible in one year:   Leviticus 8-9, Jeremiah 7:8-26, Hymn: Sing hymn 9   MESSAGE The paradigm shifts introduced by the Lord Jesus Christ ever since He came to reveal the perfect will of the Father to us are indeed numerous. One of these is in the area of divorce and remarriage. The Jewish leaders hated the teachings of Jesus and the change He came to introduce; for this reason, they wanted him dead fast! Indeed, no man ever spoke
