THE WORD OF HIS GRACE

Image
The word of His grace  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). Notice the opening verse doesn’t say, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his judgment…”; or “…to the word of His anger…”; no! It says, “…I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace….” What is grace? It’s God’s loving-kindness, bestowing unconditional blessings and favours, even to the undeserving. Grace is the awesome beauty of God’s character; His loving tenderness, far removed from wickedness, falsehood, darkness, and everything that damns. With grace, it’s not according to what you deserve, but according to His mercy and kindness shown you in Christ Jesus before the world began.  The Word of His grace is that you’re surrounded with His love; you’re the focus of His love. There’s no judgment against you (Romans 8:1). The word of th...

Ruler of the waves

Ruler of the Waves  March 7, 2017  Ruler of the Waves Read: Job 38:1–18  | Bible in a Year: Deuteronomy 3–4; Mark 10:32–52  [The Lord said], “This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt.” Job 38:11 King Canute was one of the most powerful men on earth in the eleventh century. In a now-famous tale, it is said that he ordered his chair to be placed on the shore as the tide was rising. “You are subject to me,” he said to the sea. “I command you, therefore, not to rise on to my land, nor to wet the clothing or limbs of your master.” But the tide continued to rise, drenching the king’s feet. This story is often told to draw attention to Canute’s pride. Actually, it’s a story about humility. “Let all the world know that the power of kings is empty,” Canute says next, “save Him by whose will heaven, earth and sea obey.” Canute’s story makes a point: God is the only all-powerful One. God is great, we are small, and that is good. Job...

Multiply Your Seed

Open Heavens 7 March 2017:-  Multiply your seeds MULTIPLY YOUR SEEDS – Tuesday March 7th 2017  Memorise: In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Ecclesiastes 11:6 Read: Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 (KJV) 1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.  2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.  3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. 4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. 5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh a...

The Divine Standard

Image
The Divine Standard By Billy Graham • March 7 HomeDaily Devotion The Divine Standard For salvation that comes from trusting Christ . . . is already within easy reach of each of us . . . —Romans 10:8 (TLB) Christ said there is a happiness in that acknowledgment of spiritual poverty which lets God come into our souls. Now, the Bible teaches that our souls have a disease. It causes all the troubles and difficulties in the world. It causes all the troubles, confusions, and disillusionments in your own life. The name of the disease is an ugly word. We don’t like to use it. It is “sin.” All of us have pride. We do not like to confess that we are wrong or that we have failed. But God says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We have failed to live up to the divine standard. We must confess our sin as the first step to happiness, peace, and contentment. Prayer for the day Pride kept me so long from acknowledging my need of You, Lord. Each day, help me to real...

What sound do you hear?

DCLM Daily Manna March 6, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – What Sound Do You Hear? Topic: What Sound Do You Hear? [Monday March 6, 2017] Text: 1 Kings 18:41-46 Key Verse: "And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain" (1 Kings 18:41).  What you hear usually defines the action you take, influences your attitude in all situations, and determines your fate eventually. If you are surrounded by pessimistic people or those who distrust God’s promises, you are most likely going to resort to self-help which would inevitably spell disaster. After three years of drought and famine in Israel, suddenly, Elijah the prophet was instructed by the Lord to "go, show thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth". And with that, he launched into a huge contest with the false prophets and idol worshippers in Israel. King Ahab, was to witness this as proof of the supremacy and sovereignty of the God of Israel. God spectacul...

Loving Perfectly, March 6

Loving Perfectly March 6, 2017  Loving Perfectly Read: 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 | Bible in a Year: Deuteronomy 1–2; Mark 10:1–31  [Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:7–8  Her voice shook as she shared the problems she was having with her daughter. Worried about her teenager’s questionable friends, this concerned mum confiscated her daughter’s mobile phone and chaperoned her everywhere. Their relationship seemed only to go from bad to worse. When I spoke with the daughter, I discovered that she loves her mum dearly but is suffocating under a smothering love. She longs to break free. Thank You for being our model in showing us how to live and love. As imperfect beings, we all struggle in our relationships. Whether we are a parent or child, single or married, we grapple with expressing love the right way, saying and doing the right thing at the right time. We grow in love throughout our lifetim...

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound. - Philippians 4:11, 12

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound. - Philippians 4:11, 12 IF we find our experiences in life very checkered we may conclude that the Lord sees that we need both the heights and depths of prosperity and adversity to properly instruct us and qualify us for the position He designs for us in the future. Let us, then, as the apostle did, learn how to abound, not allowing the abundance of earthly good things to swerve us from our consecration vows; and learn also how to be in want (need) and yet not to want anything beyond what the Lord's wisdom and providence see best to give--to be content.
