But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). There’s the right way to worship God. You can’t worship Him the way you choose and expect that He’ll accept it. For example, Genesis 4 tells us how two men—Cain and Abel—the sons of Adam and Eve offered sacrifices to God. Cain brought an offering to God from the produce of his farm; he offered to God what he thought was okay, instead of what God had asked for. Abel, on the other hand, offered what God demanded and his sacrifice was accepted. You don’t give to God what you think you have; you give Him what He demands of you. It’s the same with worship. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2017 FEED ON GOD’S WORD  -PSALM 119:9-16 KEY VERSE: "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word" (Psalm 119:9).  The greatest weakness of many people is that they have no clue as to how to keep themselves from doing what is wrong. Worse still, because of the widespread permissiveness in our modern world, many no longer know where to draw a line between what is right and what is wrong. As a result, they stumble through life, experiencing one disaster after another. The writer of this psalm seems to be understandably worried about how the world is engulfed in diverse kinds of evil and perversions. How possible is it then for anyone, especially vibrant and inexperienced young people, to keep away from doing what is wrong? Philippians 2:5 The National Portrait Gallery in London, England, houses a treasure of paintings from across the centuries, including 166 images of Winston Churchill, 94 of William Shakespeare, and 20 of George Washington. With the older portraits, we may wonder: Is that what these individuals really looked like? For instance, there are eight paintings of Scottish patriot William Wallace (c. 1270–1305), but we obviously don’t have photographs to compare them to. How do we know if the artists accurately represented Wallace? Somethin similar might be happening with the likeness of Jesus. The word of His grace  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). Notice the opening verse doesn’t say, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his judgment…”; or “…to the word of His anger…”; no! It says, “…I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace….” What is grace? It’s God’s loving-kindness, bestowing unconditional blessings and favours, even to the undeserving. Grace is the awesome beauty of God’s character; His loving tenderness, far removed from wickedness, falsehood, darkness, and everything that damns. With grace, it’s not according to what you deserve, but according to His mercy and kindness shown you in Christ Jesus before the world began.  The Word of His grace is that you’re surrounded with His love; you’re the focus of His love. In a now-famous tale, it is said that he ordered his chair to be placed on the shore as the tide was rising. “You are subject to me,” he said to the sea. “I command you, therefore, not to rise on to my land, nor to wet the clothing or limbs of your master.” But the tide continued to rise, drenching the king’s feet.
