MARCH 27, 2017 DEFEATING SATAN TEXT: JAMES 4:7 BIBLE TEXT: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). You should always remember the story of Job whenever Satan comes with his wiles. When you are tempted to sin, God is watching. Consider the possibility that God and Satan are having a conversation about you at that moment. God is saying, "Consider my servant, (insert your name here)" Satan would love to see you fall, confirming his accusation leveled against you before God. Satan, though powerful, is not invincible. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, He comes to live in our spirit, and if we allow that renewed part of us to rule our decisions, we can overcome the sin nature in our flesh. It doesn't go away, but the greater One Who lives in us helps us overcome it daily (see Galatians 5:16). That does not mean that we never sin, but we can improve and make progress throughout our lives. I certainly cannot say I have overcome selfishness entirely—none ...

He still craves to continue His fellowship with us just as He did in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. He has a burning desire to have a continuous relationship with man the crown of His creation; hence, the call to the nation of Israel to build a tabernacle unto Him where He would dwell among them. God instructed Moses on the mountain to prepare for the making of a tabernacle wherein He might dwell with man. He had to invite offerings of various kinds (metals, skins, fabric, oil and spices) from willing minds to contribute towards an abode for Him. In the New Testament, God through the Son came down t...
