SIGHT AND VISION

SIGHT AND VISION TEXT: JOHN 4:35 BIBLE TEXT: "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest"  (John 4:35). People see many things but take notice of few and often ignoring the most important. Multitudes of sinners are seen every day around us and we hear the sound of the Master's voice urging, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."  (Mark 16:15). Our passage indicates how wrongly, Jesus' disciples saw the sinners around them. To them, those sinners were normal people and had ample opportunities to repent of their sins and be converted at a convenient time. They did not see any urgency in preaching to them for their salvation, yet the Lord saw the field as ripe for harvesting. Reinhard Bonnke said, "Preaching the Gospel is like plugging into a power socket. The Gospel can't be used until it is s...

The greatest love of all

Image
Today’s Scripture "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13, NKJV) The Greatest Love of All In our culture today, so many people are confused about what love is. We love pizza, movies and sports, but we also love our family or spouse. If we look to the Word of God, we see God’s definition of love. First Corinthians 13 tells us that “love is patient and kind. It does not envy nor boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It does not seek its own way, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices in the truth. Love believes, hopes and endures. Love never fails.” This is how God responds to us, and this is how we should respond to the people in our lives—with patience, kindness, hope, humility and love. Scripture tells us that God is love, and His character never changes! Today and every day, know that God loves you with an everlasting love. He ...

AT TABLE WITH THE SAVIOUR

Image
AT TABLE WITH THE SAVIOUR -1 CORINTHIANS 11:17-34 KEY VERSE: "Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord" (1 Corinthians 11:27). It is often the lot of man to turn God’s sacred practices to fads and fashion. Yet, God’s standards remain unalterable. The wise keeps to them and rejoices. The Lord’s Supper is a practical demonstration of the gospel, a vivid illustration of the death of Christ, for the sin of mankind. Through it, believers are reminded of the death of the Saviour and of the imminence and hope of His return. The celebration of the Lord’s Supper in the early Church also incorporated a love feast. This was a form of sharing and caring which preceded the actual celebration and in which all believers freely participated. Sadly, the Corinthian church soon lost this admirable tradition. It was replaced by wanton discrimination between the rich and the poor. Paul...

GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT

Image
GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT – Sunday April 16th 2017 Memorise:  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 Read:  Acts 5:1-6 (KJV) 1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. Bible in one year;  Numbers 3, J...

He Understands and Cares

Image
He Understands and Cares David McCasland Isaiah 53:1–8 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering. Isaiah 53:4 When asked if he thought that ignorance and apathy were problems in modern society, a man joked, “I don’t know and I don’t care.” I suppose many discouraged people feel that way about the world today and the people in it. But when it comes to the perplexities and concerns of our lives, Jesus fully understands, and He deeply cares. Isaiah 53, an Old Testament prophecy of the crucifixion of Jesus, gives us a glimpse of what He went through for us. “He was oppressed and afflicted . . . led like a lamb to the slaughter” (v. 7). “For the transgression of my people he was punished” (v. 8). “It was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand...

IT WASN'T FOR NOTHING

Image
It Wasn’t For Nothing According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3). he Christian is the fruit of Christ’s suffering. The Bible talks about the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should be revealed (1 Peter 1:11). We’re that glory; we’re His joy and His trophies. We’re the glory He saw that made Him endure the cross and despise the shame (Hebrews 12:2). For the Christian, suffering is absolutely unnecessary, because Jesus already paid the price for you to live a glorious life. Everything required for your success has been consummated. He died so you can live a life of honour, dignity and excellence. The most beautiful part is that, it all didn’t end with His death and burial. He rose triumphantly back to life on the third day. That’s what we celebrate at Easter. Just as death couldn’t hold Him ...

The Return of the Lord

The Return of the Lord By Billy Graham   •   April 14   •   Topics: End Times HomeDaily DevotionThe Return of the Lord man and woman praying together Our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ is; and we are looking forward to his return . . . —Philippians 3:20 (TLB) The Scriptures indicate that we are living in man’s day. But there is coming a day that will be called the Day of the Lord. In the midst of hopelessness, there is hope! And that hope is centered in the God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Now the will of man runs riot in the earth. Then the will of the Lord will alone be done. Until that time, we are under orders from the King of kings to proclaim His message. When we engage in evangelism, we are obeying His great command to “go and proclaim.” In doing so, we are hastening the day of His return. Prayer for the day As I live in the hope of Your return, give me the wisdom and love to reach those...
