This is the battle or the tension that is present in us to a greater or lesser degree. So, you see, the spiritual lag that you feel is explained in the Bible. That does not mean that you accept it as the way it should be. You should make all necessary preparations for this battle which the Bible says “is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces.” In Ephesians 6 we read that the Bible tells what preparation you should make. In the meantime, always remember that “where s...

LIVE THE HIGHER LIFE.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL LIVE THE HIGHER LIFE. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). These are the words of Jesus; such powerful, comforting, lifting and encouraging words! He said, In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” What a confession. He lived the higher life. When He physically walked the earth, even though He was in a world plagued with gross darkness, economic hardships, sickness, oppression, disasters, death, etc., He was so detached from the problems and the influences of His day. He lived in another realm, unscathed by the vagaries of nature and corrupting influences in the world. Why was He so different? It’s because He had a peculiar mind-set; the mind-set of the righteous. And according to the Scriptures, we’re like Him. 1 John 4:17 says, as he is, so are w...

Finding The Way Out

Image
  May 20, 2017 Finding the Way Out James Banks 1 Corinthians 10:1–13 God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.  1 Corinthians 10:13 There’s a street with an intriguing name in the city of Santa Barbara, California. It’s called “Salsipuedes,” which means “leave if you can.” When the street was first named, the area bordered on a marsh that sometimes flooded, and the Spanish-speaking city planners dubbed the location with a not-so-subtle warning to stay away. God’s Word cautions us to stay away from the “wrong road” of sin and temptation: “Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way” (Prov. 4:15). But Scripture doesn’t just say “leave if you can.” It offers assurance and tells us where to turn: “God is faithful; he will not let you be...

Prepare the child

  May 19, 2017 Prepare the Child David C. McCasland Psalm 78:1–8 We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of theLord, his power, and the wonders he has done. Psalm 78:4 A phrase on many parenting websites says, “Prepare the child for the road, not the road for the child.” Instead of trying to remove all obstacles and pave the way for the children in our life, we should instead equip them to deal with the difficulties they encounter on the road ahead. The psalmist wrote, “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes . . . , which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them . . . and they in turn would tell their children” (Ps. 78:4–6). The goal is that “they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands” (v. 7). Think of the powerfu...

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 DEFENDING HIS NAME – Thursday May 18th 2017 Memorise:  Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. Psalm 106:8 Read:  Psalm 106:7-9 (King James Version) 7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. 8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. 9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. Bible in one year:  Deuteronomy 29-30, Jeremiah 32:16-25, Hymn: Sing hymn 12 MESSAGE The Bible declares that our God is a very present help in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). This means that He is ever-present or always ready to help in the time of trouble. Rccg open heavens today. There are several reasons why God makes His help available to a person. Understanding...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES THURSDAY, 18TH MAY. EMULATE HIM IN YOUR LOVE-WALK.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES THURSDAY, 18TH MAY. EMULATE HIM IN YOUR LOVE-WALK. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES THURSDAY, 18TH MAY.  http://bit.ly/2dZqtLQ EMULATE HIM IN YOUR LOVE-WALK. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith (Galatians 5:22). Your maturity as a Christian is measured by the love of God that you express to others. Romans 13:8-10 says, “Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law….love is the fulfilling of the law.” 1 John 3:14 says, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” The new creation is created to love. Observe our opening verse again; it doesn’t say, “But the fruits of the spirit are…”; rather, it’s specific. It says, “…the fruit of the spirit is love…,” letting you know that love is the dominant f...

Clothed by God

  May 18, 2017 Clothed by God Amy Boucher Pye Zechariah 3 See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.  Zechariah 3:4 When my kids were toddlers, they would play outside in our sodden English garden and quickly become covered in mud and dirt. For their good and the good of my floor, I’d remove their clothes at the door and wrap them in towels before sticking them in the bath. They’d soon move from dirty to clean with the addition of soap, water, and hugs. In a vision given to Zechariah, we see Joshua, a high priest, covered in rags that represent sin and wrongdoing (Zech. 3:3). But the Lord makes him clean, removing his filthy clothes and covering him in rich garments (3:5). The new turban and robe signify that the Lord has taken his sins from him. We too can receive God’s cleansing as we become free of our wrongdoing through the saving work of Jesus. As a result of His death on the cross, we can have the ...
