ENEMY AT WORK

MARCH 13, 2017 ENEMY AT WORK 
TEXT: MATTHEW 13:27, 28A BIBLE

TEXT: "So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this..."(Matthew 13:27, 28a).




But as seen in our text we cannot send them away. Matthew Henry says, "Though gross transgressors, and such as openly oppose the gospel, ought to be separated from the society of the faithful, yet no human skill can make an exact separation. Those who oppose must not be cut off but instructed, and that with meekness."
Jesus will do the just separation on the Day of Judgment. Beloved, if you attend a good school or a good church and some of the youth are wayward, rejecting the word of God, you should neither imitate them nor speak evil of them. God can save the human "˜tares' just as He is perfecting you by His word for His kingdom. Challenge: There are still pretenders in the Church. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, He comes to live in our spirit, and if we allow that renewed part of us to rule our decisions, we can overcome the sin nature in our flesh. It doesn't go away, but the greater One Who lives in us helps us overcome it daily (see Galatians 5:16). MARCH 27, 2017 DEFEATING SATAN TEXT: JAMES 4:7 BIBLE TEXT: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). You should always remember the story of Job whenever Satan comes with his wiles. When you are tempted to sin, God is watching. Consider the possibility that God and Satan are having a conversation about you at that moment. God is saying, "Consider my servant, (insert your name here)" Satan would love to see you fall, confirming his accusation leveled against you before God. Satan, though powerful, is not invincible. We overcome him by not yielding to him but by resisting him. Dr. J. H. Jowett said, "Evil never surrenders its hold without a sore fight." To defeat Satan, all thoughts, affections, words, and actions, must be guided by the word of God. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES THURSDAY, 16TH MARCH. WISDOM THROUGH THE WORD. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him (Proverbs 22:15). There’re people who never make the right choices or decisions or ask the right questions. What happened to such people? How did they become that way? The answer is in our opening verse. It says, “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child….” Then it says the rod of correction will drive that foolishness far away from him. The rod of correction isn’t a stick or cudgel; that may help in some cases, but the actual rod of correction is the Word of God in your mouth, and the Word of God is the wisdom of God. Meaning that, the wisdom of God, coming out of your mouth will drive foolishness away from a child so that as he grows up, he gets wiser. The Apostle Paul hinted on this in his address to Timothy.
